Samsung, a manufacturing giant for smartphones, and other components related to smartphones such as chips, controllers, display panels, storage and memory devices, processors and camera sensors.
A report by the counterpoint states that Samsung has captured 3 positions in the global market for mobile processors and has surpassed Apple. Apple has a total share of 13.1% whereas Samsung has a share of 14.1% market share globally.
The companies popular for chipset manufacturing – Qualcomm and Mediatek are the leaders in this segment as their market share was of 33.4% and 24.6% respectively. The reports also state that in the list of Top five SoC brands only Samsung and Huawei have shown growing out of the other companies.
Exynos is the brand under which Samsung’s system LSI business has been manufacturing chips. These chips are used in smartphones from other brands like Vivo, Meizu including Samsung.
Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy Ultra were the flagship smartphones recently launched by Samsung which are powered by the high-end chipset Exynos 990. All three run without 5G support as that tech might just take a while to reach Indian shores. These phones look neat and are premium to touch as per the user reviews. Display sizes, cameras, and battery capacities are the major differences between these three smartphones by Samsung.
The previous week Samsung launched Galaxy M21, it’s a budget smartphone in India. It has got two variants, one of them has a 64GB internal storage and 4GB Random access memory and another with 128GB internal storage and 4GB RAM. The one with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage costs Rs 12,999. Samsung has not revealed the price for the smartphone with 64GB internal storage and 4GB RAM variant. These smartphones will have two colour options one will be Raven black and another will be Midnight Blue.
Samsung Galaxy M21 has a High definition display+ with Infinity U Samoled display with a 6.4 inch screen. It has a pixel resolution of 1080×2340. The screen comes with a tagline ‘wattamonster’ and has a layer of Corning gorilla glass 3 which will be best suited for protection of the glass.
As mentioned earlier, the Samsung device is powered by the chip of company’s own octa-core Exynos 9611 processor
The processor runs on all the latest Android 10 based Samsung oneUI. The internal storage space can be extended as per the users requirement by adding a micro SD card in the smart phone.
For the one’s with the concern for its camera, the camera for the latest Samsung M21 consists a package of triple cameras at the back which has a 48mp main sensor and 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 5MP depth sensor.
There is a camera of 20MP in the front for the users who are selfie enthusiasts. Along with the other features the smart phones comes with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and a battery of 6000 mAh with a charging support of 15W.
There are various connectivity options such as 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C.
